Carolina Panthers: NFL Analyst Predicts Quarterback Bryce Young Will Massively Improve In 2024

Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young massively struggled during his rookie season. He only completed 59.8% of his passes for 2,877 yards, 11 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions. Young did not have enough help at the wide receiver position, but that was not why he struggled a season ago.

Young had Frank Reich as his head coach for part of last season until he was fired. Young was the number one overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft out of Alabama. There were a lot of people in the Panthers building in the 2023 NFL Draft who wanted to draft C.J. Stroud from the Ohio State Buckeyes, but owner David Tepper overruled everyone in the building.

Stroud went second overall to the Houston Texans in the 2023 NFL Draft. He led Houston to a division title last season in the AFC South and a playoff win. C.J. Stroud also won the Rookie of the Year Award for offense. This is why there is so much pressure on Bryce Young to improve in his second NFL season. Because of Stroud’s presence with the Houston Texans, they are in the Super Bowl bubble for the 2024 season.

Pro Football Network’s Anthony DiBona Predicts That Carolina Panthers Quarterback Bryce Young Will Massively Improve During His Second NFL Season

Anthony DiBona of Pro Football Network predicts that Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young will improve during his second NFL season. He picked one candidate for each NFC team to improve during the 2024 NFL season. DiBona said about Young:

“Bryce Young is the only second-year player on this entire list. While it’s easy to expect last year’s No. 1 pick to take a step forward in 2024, he looked horrendous as a rookie. In response, the Panthers made arguably the best hire of this offseason, hiring Dave Canales to be the head coach. Canales did a phenomenal job revitalizing the careers of Geno Smith and Baker Mayfield. He will be looking to do the same with Young, who I believe will take a massive leap this upcoming season.”

Dave Canales was the offensive coordinator last season for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They won the division last season in the NFC South.  He did a great job with quarterback Baker Mayfield last season. Tampa Bay defeated the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Wild Card Round before losing to the Detroit Lions in the NFC Divisional Round.

The Carolina Panthers had the worst record in the NFL last season at 2-15, but the number one pick went to the Chicago Bears because of the D.J. Moore trade. Carolina and Bryce Young hope to improve big time this season in an unpredictable NFC South division.
