The Carolina Panthers drafted quarterback Bryce Young with the number one overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft out of Alabama. Young during his rookie season struggled.
In the first game against the New Orleans Saints on the road on Sunday, he struggled in a 47-10 loss. It appeared as if the former Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback looked lost once again to start his second season under new head coach Dave Canales. Canales performed well as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator last season and helped out quarterback Baker Mayfield.

According to this, it was 16.9 (60.3% expected, 43.3% actual). This is not very good for Young.
Young completed 13-of-30 passes for 161 yards and two interceptions. He also rushed for 12 yards on four carries and one touchdown in the game for the Panthers. Bryce Young is going to need to show massive improvement this season.
They are already regretting passing on C.J. Stroud with the number one overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. The former Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback had a good start to the 2024 season. Houston is a championship contender because of him.
Number 1 Pick In the 2025 NFL Draft?
Is there a chance that the Panthers will get the number one overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft once again? If they do, there is no way that Bryce Young will be the quarterback for the long haul. There will be many options for Carolina with that selection.
The consensus is that Carson Beck from the Georgia Bulldogs will be the number one overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. However, other names like Sheuder Sanders of the Colorado Buffaloes and Quinn Ewers of the Texas Longhorns will be some other quarterbacks taken in this year’s class.
Even if Carolina does not land the number one pick, they will be in quarterback contention unless Young takes massive strides. The New York Giants could give the Panthers a run for their money for the number one pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. They both will play each other in Munich, Germany on November, 10 and the quarterback battle between Daniel Jones and Young will burn people’s eyes.
