The Cleveland Browns are 3-13 this season and would own the number three overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Cleveland has a chance to get the number one overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. The last time that the Browns had the number one overall pick was in 2018 when they selected quarterback Baker Mayfield number one overall from Oklahoma.
It would be interesting to see what the Cleveland Browns would do in the 2025 NFL Draft. There is a chance that the Browns could have a new general manager and head coach next season.
Cleveland Browns Make Franchise Altering Decision In Latest 2025 NFL Mock Draft
Josh Edwards of CBS Sports created his 2025 NFL Mock Draft. He has the New England Patriots and the Tennessee Titans passing up on quarterbacks with the first two picks in the 2025 NFL Draft. Edwards thinks that the Cleveland Browns are going to draft quarterback Cam Ward from Miami with the third overall pick. Josh Edwards said:
“Cleveland would probably be more inclined to sign Kirk Cousins and draft a quarterback on Day 2, but can not pass up the opportunity to select Cam Ward at No. 3 overall. If the Browns do not go quarterback, then offensive tackle and best player available would be the preferred path.”
It would be interesting to see if Cam Ward would start for the Cleveland Browns as a rookie or not if he was drafted by them. For now, Deshaun Watson is still on the roster and the Browns are paying him all of that money. Some feel like the Browns are stuck with Watson and that they could potentially pass up on a quarterback.
However, Cam Ward this season with the Miami Hurricanes completed 67.2% of his passes for 4,313 yards, 39 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. He also has rushed for 204 yards on 60 carries and four touchdowns, along with averaging 3.4 yards per carry. Some think that Cam Ward is the better quarterback prospect than Shedeur Sanders of Colorado is.
Drafting Other Positions
One of the positions that the Cleveland Browns need to draft outside of quarterback is wide receiver. There is a chance that the Browns could select a wide receiver in the Top 3. If Tetairora McMillan is available third overall, there is a good chance that Cleveland will draft him. The Browns have many options this offseason.
All eyes will be on the Browns potentially drafting a quarterback. The Cleveland Browns will be criticized if they pass up on Cam Ward or Shedeur Sanders and keep Deshaun Watson this offseason. Drafting Ward would reset the entire Cleveland Browns franchise. It is something that is very well in play for them.
