Former NFL MVP Cam Newton opened up about one incident in his NFL career that he described as embarrassing and something that has “haunted” him ever since.

In a recent appearance on John Manziel’s “Glory Daze” podcast, Cam Newton opened up about one incident in his career that had scarred him ever since.
“It sucks sometimes, vulnerable moment, that your career is hinged on one clip, not diving on the fumble,” Newton said.
The former MVP also went on to explain what made the incident embarrassing for him.
“I’m so embarrassed of that clip, not necessarily from the fans’ perspective, but it means so important to even how I father. Cause I don’t care about touchdowns, I don’t care about success, I care about effort. And that one clip is what’s on people’s tongues when they’re explaining like, ‘Oh Cam, oh you the devil’, I’m haunted with that daily.”
Throughout his career, Cam Newton did 59.9% of 4,474 pass attempts, for 32,382 yards, adn threw 194 touchdowns and 123 interceptions. He averaged 7.2 yards per attempt and had a career passer rating of 85.2, making him one of the more productive passers of his generation.

Newton also chipped in with three receptions for 68 yards and one touchdown, finishing his career with 460 total points scored and leaving an indelible mark as one of the NFL’s most dynamic dual-threat quarterbacks
Cam Newton Finds Defender in Former Heisman Awardee
Cam Newton’s status as the defining signal‐caller in Carolina Panthers history took center stage this week after a social media barb reignited debate over his legacy.
The latest flashpoint emerged when Philadelphia Eagles superfan Gillie Da Kid celebrated his team’s recent Super Bowl triumph by ribbing Newton for never hoisting football’s biggest prize. The jab—shared widely online—underscored how “ring culture” can reduce storied careers to championship counts, a notion that irked many who view Newton’s 2015 MVP season and three Pro Bowl nods as monumental achievements in their own right.

Defending his former collegiate rival, ex-Heisman winner Johnny Manziel took to social media to lambaste the Eagles supporter, calling him out for claiming credit in a championship he didn’t earn.
Manziel even threatened to confront Gillie Da Kid in person, arguing that taking cheap shots at a player of Newton’s caliber was both unwarranted and disrespectful.
The exchange has reignited discussions about how fans measure greatness, with many insisting that Cam Newton’s transformative impact on and off the field transcends any single postseason result.
