Cam Newton, former NFL quarterback and retired safety Ryan Clark have been butting heads for a few days now over a top 10 QB list. Some time back, Newton released a list of best quarterbacks in the league today, in which Philadelphia Eagles starting QB Jalen Hurts was visibly absent.

For the list, Newton has faced mixed reactions from the public but Ryan Clark took this to another level. Earlier this week, Clark took a nasty shot at Newton for the list, calling him out for his own career in the NFL. Newton addressed this directly in his podcast and also took a jab at Clark’s NFL career.
“You’re attacking the messenger and not attacking the message.” Cam Newton spoke about Ryan Clark and his own top 10 quarterback list.
“Second-team All-SEC? We cannot relate. Undrafted in 2002? We cannot relate. Then, you have one Pro Bowl in 2011? We cannot relate.” Newton went on to criticize Ryan Clark’s NFL career.
Cam Newton’s list has Buffalo Bills starting quarterback, Josh Allen, reigning as the best quarterback in the NFL currently with Lamar Jackson of the Baltimore Ravens at no. 2. Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes who has won three Super Bowl rings so far in his career is third in the list.

Newton did give a reason as to why he refused to place Philadelphia Eagles starting quarterback Jalen Hurts in the list. According to Newton, Hurts may have spectacularly won Super Bowl LIX against the Chiefs earlier this year. However, when compared to the other signal-callers in the list, Hurts has not demonstrated much consistency which is an important criterion for Newton’s list.
Cam Newton And Brittney Griner Discuss Coming Out Of The Closet
When he is not taking shots at Ryan Clark, Cam Newton can indeed be a pretty friendly guy as seen in the latest episode of his show. Newton had WNBA player Brittney Griner as a guest who recalled how she came out of the closet to her family. Griner, who is openly gay, narrated that she plucked up the courage to tell her mother that she liked girls when she was in the ninth grade.

Fortunately for Griner, her mother did not respond with any surprise or shock and simply told her she loves her. Griner also revealed to Cam Newton that her siblings were also not surprised at her announcement and remarked that they all knew that she was gay beforehand.
