“I Had to Do Something”: Cam Heyward Says Josh Allen Intentionally Kneed Him in the Stomach During Bills vs Steelers Matchup

Cam Heyward was “ticked off the entire game” and nearly fought Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen because Allen allegedly intentionally kneed him in the stomach after a tackle during their Week 13 game on Sunday. Heyward said Allen even admitted to the intentionality after the play.

The initial incident occurred in the first half of the game as Heyward was trying to get up after tackling Allen on a short run. Heyward claims Allen drove his knee into Heyward’s midsection on purpose.

Heyward was furious and immediately confronted Allen, getting nose-to-nose with him before other players and officials intervened to separate them.

According to Heyward, Allen told him, “I had to do something to get you off me,” which confirmed to Heyward that the action was intentional and kept him angry throughout the game.

The pair continued jawing at each other throughout the game. Heyward was later flagged for a 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for taunting after getting in Allen’s face following a third-quarter touchdown pass.

Allen did not directly address the kneeing accusation in his postgame press conference, but commented on the competitiveness, saying, “Sometimes, you need fire like that to get you going.”

The tension between Cam Heyward and Josh Allen stood out in a physical game. Allen described it as a competitive drive. Heyward insisted the move was intentional and unsportsmanlike.

Steelers meltdown leads to fire Mike Tomlin chants after Bills dominate second half in 26–7 win

Buffalo Bills defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers 26-7 in a game defined by Buffalo’s dominant run game and second-half performance. The Bills outscored the Steelers 23-0 in the second half after trailing 7-3 at halftime.

The Bills’ offense was led by a powerful ground game, accumulating 249 rushing yards, an opposing team record at Acrisure Stadium. Running back James Cook had 144 yards on 32 carries.

Quarterback Josh Allen set an NFL record for the most career rushing touchdowns by a QB, surpassing Cam Newton with his 76th rushing touchdown.

The pivotal moment came early in the third quarter when a Joey Bosa strip-sack led to a 17-yard fumble return touchdown by Christian Benford, giving the Bills a 10-7 lead they would not relinquish. Benford also recorded an interception later in the game.

Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers was sacked and had a difficult outing, finishing with 117 yards passing. Mason Rudolph briefly replaced him after taking a hit.

The Bills dominated in time of possession 41:59 to 18:01 and total yards 383 to 152.

The loss dropped the Steelers to a 6-6 record, and their performance led to visible fan frustration and chants of “Fire Tomlin” in the stadium.
