Mason Taylor’s girlfriend, Sage Wagner, has quickly adapted as a fan of his new NFL team, the New York Jets. The Jets selected Taylor as the 42nd pick in the second round of the 2025 NFL draft, and the son of former NFL star, Jason Taylor, could not be happier. Wagner shared Taylor’s Instagram post, showing himself celebrating his draft selection with his friends and family.
Taylor and Wagner have been together for quite some time and started dating when the former LSU Tigers tight end was just 15 or 16 years old. Apparently, Wagner was Taylor’s first serious girlfriend and the two have been going long and strong.
“Call me a Jets fan now,” Sage Wagner captioned her Instagram post, sharing a picture of Taylor and the rest of his family and close friends.
Mason Taylor last played college football as a tight end for the LSU Tigers from 2022 to 2024. In his senior year for the team, Taylor managed to put up 55 receptions in total of 546 yards, scoring two touchdowns for the team.

The New York Jets are in need of tight ends like Taylor to bolster their offense for the upcoming NFL season. Last year, the Jets finished third in the AFC East after winning five games and losing 12. The Jets played their last game of the season against the Miami Dolphins and won 32-20. However, the win was a little too late as the team was already out of the playoffs.

Mason Taylor’s Stepmom Was Also Part Of His Celebration
In the picture shared by Mason Taylor, his stepmom Monica Taylor, can also be seen smiling happily. Monica married Mason’s father, Jason Taylor, after his divorce from ex-wife Katina. Monica also shares a close rapport with Mason’s girlfriend, Sage Wagne,r and shared a picture of them both from the special night.
“So many happy tears last night! love you so much my Sagey!” Monica Taylor captioned her Instagram post with she and Sage Wagner smiling ear to ear.
Mason Taylor’s father, Jason Taylor, played for a number of teams from 1997 to 2011. Currently, the 50-year-old retired NFL star is a defensive ends coach with the Miami Hurricanes. In 2006, Jason Taylor was named the NFL Defensive Player of the Year and has numerous accolades to his name. In his entire career, he managed a total of 788 tackles with 139.5 sacks.
