What to expect from the Cougars
The return of many starting players on both the offense and the defense from last season. Jaren Hall is the starting quarterback, Chris Brooks at running back, and Puka Nacua and Gunner Romney are at wide receiver. The defensive side is strong and big all over the field. The linebackers are all healthy and ready to compete this week.
Expect to see a lot of both throwing and running the football like last season. Not many changes and if you were watching fall camp highlights the Cougars won’t miss a beat on the offense. Jaren Hall will have a big game and will have many targets to choose from when they get through the line.
The defense except to see a heavy presence and also no beats miss. The lineman has been competing and getting the quarterbacks in practice so expect to see many quarterbacks hurries and potentially some sacks. The linebackers and cornerbacks are ready to make those wide receivers fight for the ball and contain the running game when it gets past the lineman.
What to expect from the Bulls
The Bulls have named their starting quarterback who is a transfer from Baylor. He had a big season last year but he also had the right weapons. This is another rebuilding year for the Bulls as they look to improve from 2-10 last year.
The offense has Gerry Bohanon at quarterback, and the running backs and the wide receivers have returners from last season. They will need to step it up and the players are saying that they are ready for the season to begin. Many think the line is expected and will be better this season.
The defense has some size and some guys who are returning from last season. Their nose tackle is going to have to be ready to try and go up against BYU’s Center. Their line is going to have some struggles against BYU’s line who is bigger and has had a great fall camp. Their secondary has to be ready to try and get to the wide receivers and confuse Jaren Hall.
