BYU Players in the NFL
The NFL Regular Season has come to end. With so many great moments, these BYU Players had many highlights that hit the world; some broke records for themselves, the teams, and BYU. Below are the players and the teams they play for currently. The teams going to the Playoffs will be labeled and I will do another article for those teams after the Super Bowl.
NFC
Arizona Cardinals
Chris Wilcox CB
Played for BYU from 2016-2020. Is currently on the Practice squad with the Cardinals and started his year with the Colts.
Ty’Son Williams RB
Was a Cougar for one year in 2019. Williams is on the active roster with the Cardinals and played in one game against the 49ers and rushed for five yards. He started his season with the Colts
Atlanta Falcons
Tyler Allgeier RB
Played for BYU from 2018-2021 and broke many records there was then drafted by the Falcons in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL Draft. Played in 16 games this year and rushed for 1,035 yards and three touchdowns. The first Cougar to reach 1,000 rushing yards in the NFL.
Carolina Panthers
Brady Christensen LG
Christensen was a Cougar from 2017-2020. He was also drafted in the 2021 NFL Draft in the third round. Played in 16 games for the Panthers this season and came up big for the Offensive line.
Detroit Lions
Jamaal Williams RB
Jamaal Williams played for BYU from 2012, 2014 and 2016. This was his first season with the Lions and he played in 17 games, 1066 yards, and 17 touchdowns. This season was a career-high for Williams and also broke some records along the way for the Lions.
Minnesota Vikings
They are third in the NFC playoffs

Khyiris Tonga NT
Tonga played for the Cougars from 2017-2020. Played in 11 games for the Vikings in 2022 after playing for the Bears. He finished the season with 28 tackles, 0.5 sacks, and four pass deflections. This was after he spent some time on the Practice Squad for the Atlanta Falcons.
New Orleans Saints
Taysom Hill QB
Taysom Hill played for the Cougars from 2012-2016. He has played many positions for the Saints this season mainly Tight End. Hill played in 16 games this season had nine receptions for 77 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed for 575 yards on 96 attempts and had seven touchdowns.
Daniel Sorensen S
Sorensen was a Cougar from 2008, 2011-2013. He played in 17 games this season and had 25 tackles, three pass deflections, and two interceptions. Sorensen played for the Chiefs for the last eight seasons before becoming a Saint this past season.
49ers
49ers are second in the NFC playoffs
Fred Warner MLB
Fred Warner played linebacker for BYU from 2014-2017. Warner has been a big asset for the 49ers on the defense and has been a leader there for many years. He played in 17 games and had 130 tackles, two sacks, 10 pass deflections, one interception and one forced fumble.
Washington Commanders
Dax Milne WR
Dax Milne was a Cougar from 2018-2020. He played in 15 games this season and had six receptions for 37 yards and one touchdown. Milne plays more at kick and punt returner for the Commanders but is moving his way up the depth chart.
AFC
Cleveland Browns
Sione Takitaki LB
Takitaki played for the Cougars from 2014-2018. He played in 12 games before tearing his ACL but in those 12 games he had 71 tackles, one sack, and one forced fumble.
Kansas City Chiefs
Chiefs are the number one seed in the AFC
Zayne Anderson S
Zayne Anderson played for BYU from 2015-2020. Anderson spent this season on the practice squad with the Chiefs.
Matt Bushman TE
Bushman played for the Cougars from 2017-2020. He spent this past season on the practice squads with the Chiefs and the Raiders.
Las Vegas Raiders
Harvey Langi LB
Harvey Langi was a BYU Cougar from 2014-2016. Langi started the season with the Patriots, Broncos and will finish as a Raider. He hasn’t played a game in a Raider uniform but played in four total between the other two teams he played for this season.
Los Angeles Chargers
The Chargers hold the fifth seed in the AFC
Michael Davis CB
Davis was a Cougar from 2013-2016. He played in 17 games this season and had 62 tackles, one sack, 15 pass deflections, and one interception.
Kyle Van Noy LB
Kyle Van Noy played for BYU from 2010-2013. Van Noy played in 17 games this year and had 46 tackles, five sacks, three pass deflections, and one forced fumble.
Miami Dolphins
The Dolphins hold the seventh seed in the AFC
James Empey C
Empey was a Cougar from 2017-2021. He started the season with the Cowboys and was recently picked up by the Dolphins he played in one game this season against the 49ers.
New York Jets
Zach Wilson QB
Zach Wilson played for BYU from 2018-2020. Wilson played in nine games this year passed for 1,688 yards on 242 attempts, six touchdowns, and seven interceptions.
