BYU Players had a big weekend in the XFL to open the 2023 season. Some had big numbers and others had big plays and moments on the field. If you want to know more about these players check out my article on BYU Players in the XFL.
Gridiron Heroics is going to be covering the XFL throughout the entire season so look out for more XFL content and some unique takes.
Francis Bernard MLB
Former BYU (2015-2017) and Utah (2018-2019) player. Bernard this weekend had 4.5 tackles, and one tackle for loss. He helped lead the Defenders to a win over the Dragons and the first of the season.
He has played a season with the Cowboys in the NFL and was then drafted this past season to the Defenders and already is making waves. Look for him to be a leader on this team and help them to a great season.

Tomasi Laulile DL
Playing for the Cougars in College and is now in the XFL with the Renegades. He had one tackle, one interception, and one touchdown.
