BYU Beats Utah State to go to 4-1 on the season. The Wagon Wheel will remain in Provo. After a good hard-fought game the Cougars come away with the 38-26 win over the Utah State Aggies. The Cougars came out and struggled in the first half with many penalties that helped the Aggies. After half time though there was no stopping the Cougars.
Players who stood out
Hobbs Nyberg
Nyberg played great for the special teams last night. By returning the ball he gave the Cougars good field position and played a role in helping win that game last night.
Jakob Robinson

Robinson had a heck of a night on defense with two pass breakups and keeping the ball out of the Utah State wide receivers’ hands.
Miles Davis
Davis at this point should be starting running back for the Cougars. He has been the most productive this season no matter what. Davis has been one of the young guys who has stepped up to make plays when the veterans can’t figure it out.
Talan Alfrey
Alfrey had 10 tackles last night in the win over Utah State. He is a freshman who is showing to be another young guy to can step up and make plays and will for years to come at BYU.
Players with a great game

Tooley made his return last night to the field after missing the last couple of games. Tooley came back and had three tackles, one sack, two tackles for loss, and one pick-six. That pick-six is Tooley’s second on the season. The Cougar’s defense plays way better when certain guys are in and he is one of them that they need on the field.
Keanu Hill
Hill is playing lights out at wide receiver. He had 45 yards and one touchdown last night.
Micah Harper
Harper had 10 tackles and one pass deflection against the Aggies and was also seen flying to the football in the second half of the game.
Players who struggled
Jake Oldroyd
Oldroyd has now missed 5 field goals on the season.
Takeaways
Offense
Jaren Hall had yet another big game this time just in the air as many would hope. He didn’t run last night and BYU fans are very appreciative that they left the Utah State game with their starting quarterback healthy. The line needs to step it up and they are getting pushed around. This supposed to be good offensive line has proved anything but that. Running backs it’s time to name Davis the starter and let him run the ball for the Cougar’s Offense. Gunner Romney returned last night and played great he had one catch for two yards. He also would have had a touchdown if he would have held onto the ball.

Defense
The defense had a good game but not a clean one. The penalties just kept piling up. They finally got some turnovers and put some of their own points on the board. Max Tooley, Talan Alfrey and Micah Harper refused to give up no matter. What the defense needs to remember is that arm tackling doesn’t work they need to wrap them up and bring them down.
Special teams
The kicking game was good. The punts were amazing. The field goal game needs fixing its time to put in Justen Smith and see what he can do going forward.
