The Buffalo Bills will go as far as reigning NFL Most Valuable Player Josh Allen takes them. But of course, he is not the be-all and end-all of the Bills. He still has to make a strong connection with his weapons downfield.
In the 2024 NFL season, the Bills posted the second-highest average of 30.6 points per game in the league. They also finished 10th overall with 361.2 total yards per outing.
But it was mostly the Bills’ rushing attack that did the heavy lifting for Buffalo’s offense, which only had a 50.74 pass percentage rate, good for just 29th overall in the NFL.
Nevertheless, there is promise always on Buffalo’s passing attack so long as Allen is under center, and it could only get more lethal in 2025, especially if the Bills’ wide receivers take a step forward as a unit.
Comebacking Buffalo Bills player takes notice of WR

Veteran defensive back Tre’Davious White, who spent his first seven years in the NFL with the Bills before playing for the Los Angeles Rams and the Baltimore Ravens, is now back with his original team, and among the players who caught his eye was none other than Khalil Shakir.
“One guy that specifically stuck out to me, man, for sure, was Khalil [Shakir],” White told reporters (h/t Alex Brasky of Bills Digest). “ Just after catch, the way he attacked the ball and just not dropping anything. Just hands of Velcro, man, that guy. But you can just tell just from when he got drafted, just the whole demeanor and the whole way he approached each and every day. Don’t say nothing at all, but just go to work and just get over it. So for sure, just watching on film, Khalil is a guy that definitely, he stuck out.
Shakir has gradually taken his game to a higher level since arriving in the NFL in 2022. After recording just 161 receiving yards and a touchdown in 2022, he had 611 and 821 receiving yards in 2023 and 2024, respectively.
