The Buffalo Bills are looking to finally break through and win the franchise’s first Super Bowl. They added some good pieces in the NFL draft and they are not done trying to tweak this team. After not selecting a running back in the draft, the team signed veteran back Latavius Murray to a one-year deal.

Buffalo Bills Sign Latavius Murray
James Cook and Damien Harris were the only other backs until the Murray signing. In recent years, teams have found that having backfield depth is essential for winning. Keeping legs fresh and having insurance for injuries is what can keep a season afloat. Murray also brings a good veteran presence to the room that can be beneficial in ways that will not show up on the stat sheet. Murray has bounced around the league in recent years spending time with the Vikings, Saints, Ravens, and Broncos before landing with the Bills.
Can This Team Compete In A Tough AFC?
The AFC is brutal this year. There are more teams that feel like they have a Super Bowl shot than there are playoff spots. The Bills, Dolphins, Jets, Chiefs, Chargers, Ravens, Jaguars, and Steelers are all teams that feel like they should go to the postseason. One of those teams will be left off. The AFC East is also brutal as you can never count out the Patriots. The good news for the Bills is they have been able to attract signings like this one. Having Murray in the running back room will hopefully help a young back like Cook develop. If the Buffalo Bills can find a dominant running game, they will be even more dangerous.
For many NFL fans, the NFL draft signals the end of free agency. However, there are still a lot of quality players out there that can be signed in free agency that could help a team drastically.
