Although he’s already made it to the NFL, Buffalo Bills wide receiver Keon Coleman is also someone who knows his way around the basketball court. Before he became a football star with the Florida State Seminoles, he spent time on the hardwood during his days in East Lansing with the Michigan State Spartans’ basketball team while also still playing for the school’s football squad.
He only appeared in six games under Tom Izzo, averaging just 0.8 points and 0.2 rebounds, but despite those mediocre numbers, he can still shine on the basketball court.
Just take for example the show he put up during a charity basketball game hosted by Bills defensive back Damar Hamlin.

Coleman lit up the scoreboard with a 60-point eruption in the contest. He showcased his long-range shooting, handles and hops. In one of his highlights in the game, Coleman pushed his dribble behind a defender before attacking the rim and finishing with a two-handed throwdown. He also went up for a breakaway windmill dunk.

Can Buffalo Bills’ Coleman take his game to the next level in 2025?

Selected in the second round (33rd overall) by the Bills in the 2024 NFL draft, Coleman had a decent rookie season in the pros. in 13 games in 2024, Coleman had 556 receiving yards and four touchdowns on 29 receptions and 57 targets. He can surely still improve his efficiency downfield, given how many targets he missed catching. This offseason should help him polish his chemistry as well with quarterback Josh Allen, who just won the NFL MVP after a tantalizing 2024 campaign.
The Bills also didn’t add a notable competition downfield for Coleman, so there’s a path for him to take toward a bigger production within Buffalo’s offense that was 11th last year with an average of 224.5 passing yards per game.
