The 12-3 Buffalo Bills host the 4-11 New York Jets at Highmark Stadium for Week 17 of the regular season. With a victory over New York, Buffalo can clinch the second seed in the AFC. However, with a loss, the Bills can still secure the second seed next week with a victory over the New England Patriots.
The Buffalo Bills starting safety has been dealing with an injury for the past three weeks
Bills starting safety Damar Hamlin popped up on the injury report for Week 15 with a ribs/back injury after playing every single snap in Week 14 against the Los Angeles Rams. Hamlin missed Thursday’s practice of Week 15, and the Bills listed him as questionable but later ruled out for their game against the Detroit Lions. He participated in last week’s practice as a limited participant, and similar to the previous week, was questionable but later downgraded to out against the New England Patriots.
The Bills are giving him one more week to heal
For the second consecutive week, Damar Hamlin participated during the week of practice as a limited participant, and the Buffalo Bills listed him as questionable. Unfortunately for the starting safety, he will miss his third consecutive week. According to Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic, the Bills ruled out seven players for their clash against the Jets, including Hamlin.
