The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are currently fighting for their playoff lives in the NFC. Coming off a dominant 30-7 win over the New York Giants, Tampa Bay is currently 5-6 and still very much in the race for the NFC South.
However, quarterback Baker Mayfield will have a few more off the field distractions in the near future thanks to an unexpected law suit.

In addition to dealing with issues on the field, Baker Mayfield is also involved in a legal dispute with his family:
Last week, Mayfield’s legal team filed a lawsuit claiming Camwood Capital Management Group, owned by his father, James W. Mayfield, violated a settlement agreement.
Mayfield, the former No. 1 overall pick in the NFL Draft, filed a $12 million lawsuit which outlines a repayment plan for the money.
His brother Matt also has a stake in the company.
WFLA reports that Baker Mayfield’s wife, Emily, and the couple’s company, Team BRM, LLC, are also listed as plaintiffs in the lawsuit.
The lawsuit centers around a “confidential settlement and release agreement” that was finalized in January 2024. “To date, Camwood Capital has not repaid even one dollar under the Settlement Agreement,” the legal filing states.
In total, Baker Mayfield is seeking “no less than” $11.74 million, plus interest, attorney fees, and additional relief.
