The Cleveland Browns have had an eventful off-season. Their last few months have defined the future of their franchise. However, that franchise will be playing with heavy hearts this season after a young former star has tragically passed away.
Breaking: Browns Fans Heartbroken After Former Star Dies At 33 In Car Accident

According to reports, a former NFL player died in an “awful” car accident at 33 years old:
Chandler Jones, a former NFL player who starred collegiately at San Jose State, died in a pedestrian car accident. He was killed on Sunday morning. Jones, who played in the NFL for several different teams on the practice squad, went on to star in the Canadian Football League.
He went into coaching after that, helping the Montreal Alouettes win the Grey Cup – Canada’s Super Bowl – in 2023.
“Our thoughts are with Chandler’s family and loved ones as they navigate this incredibly difficult time,” Montreal general manager Danny Maciocia in a statement. “We extend our heartfelt condolences and offer them our full support.”
Jones, who is from California, starred in high school at Bishop Montgomery in Torrance. He died in a freeway accident in Los Angeles on Sunday, according to the L.A. County medical examiner.

“It is with great sadness that we share the passing of alum, Chandler Jones ‘09,” Bishop Montgomery High School said in a Facebook post. “Jones was a standout player on Bishop’s football team and still holds the record for longest kick-off return (97 yards) and longest fumble recovery (98 yards).”
San Jose State released a statement on Jones’ passing.
“Forever in our hearts, #89 In loving memory of Spartan wide receiver and coach, Chandler Jones,” they announced.
Prayers are pouring in on social media.
“I am so sad to hear this news. Chandler Jones was an outstanding model for San Jose State. May he always and forever Rest In Peace. My thoughts go out to his close friends and family. His memory will live on forever,” one fan wrote.
“A true Spartan. Heartbreaking loss. We Spartan Fans would like to see #89 retired forever for SJSU football. An absolute must & Chandler The Jet Jones name needs to be in the Ring of Honor at Spartan Stadium. Thank you to #89 for all the joy he gave on the field & off,” one fan added.
“No way… you were a great friend Chan Chan! RIP and thoughts and prayers to you and your family,” one fan added.
“This is so terribly sad 😢,” one fan added.
