Brock Purdy made quite a bit of NFL history when he led the San Francisco 49ers to a dominating 41-23 victory over the Seattle Seahawks. He became the youngest quarterback ever to for at least 300 yards and three touchdowns. Purdy also became the first rookie quarterback ever with four total touchdowns in a postseason game.

Despite his stellar stat line, there were plenty of people on social media who were not impressed with the final pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
Brock Purdy Draws Criticism on Twitter Despite 4 Touchdowns
For what it’s worth, some of the criticism Brock Purdy is getting is similar to the criticism Tom Brady received whenever he won a Super Bowl (or lost one, for that matter). Phrases like “system quarterback” and “top-five defense” swirled around social media, trying to discredit Purdy’s performance.

Brock Purdy Also Received Well-Deserved Praise
To be fair, most of the criticism seems to be come from fans and analysts who, for whatever reason, do not want Purdy to succeed or do not want him to be viewed as a good quarterback. However, most of the reactions to his performance were ones of awe.
