Brock Purdy could be given the ‘Dak Prescott’ treatment by the San Francisco 49ers according to NFL analyst, Mike Florio. Prescott had to do plenty of negotiating with Dallas Cowboys owner, Jerry Jones before he got a juicy contract with the team. Prescott initially came into the team after replacing the starting quarterback who was injured, just like Brock Purdy.
With Brock Purdy leading their offense, the San Francisco 49ers finished fourth in the NFC West with six wins and 11 defeats. In their final game of the 2024 NFL season, the 49ers played against the Arizona Cardinals and lost the game with a disappointing 47-24. In the 2024 NFL season, quarterback Purdy threw for a total of 3,864 yards, scoring 20 touchdowns along with 12 interceptions.
“They could play games. They could squat on him for another year like the Cowboys did with Dak Prescott. Let him finish his contract, tagged him for a year, and gave him the big deal after he had been tagged once and they had tagged him a second time. You’ve got to do more to prove that you’re worth market value. If you want market value, we’re happy to sign you to a long-term deal now at $40 [million] or thereabouts. If you want $50 [million] or more, you’ve got to do it for one more year.” Mike Florio said on ‘Pro Football Talk’.
Brock Purdy is definitely one of the lower-paid quarterbacks in the NFL with a $3.7 million contract for four years which he signed back in 2022. Purdy was the 262nd pick in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL Draft. Before the NFL, Purdy played college football for the Iowa State Cyclones from 2018 to 2021.

Brock Purdy’s Contract Will Be Surely Extended According To Jed York
Brock Purdy’s contract with the San Francisco 49ers will be surely extended as per team owner Jed York. York announced on Monday that he expects Purdy to play for the team for a long time as starting quarterback. In the 2024 NFL season, Purdy actually posted very unimpressive numbers for the team ever since he became the starting QB.

York went on to remark that he and the team will do everything in their power to extend Purdy’s contract. Purdy is one of the lowest-paid quarterbacks in the league, but there is no surety that the contract will be improved on in the upcoming NFL season.
