Brock Purdy, San Francisco 49ers’ starting quarterback, had an interesting first day of training camp, according to team insider Grant Cohn. Cohn shared a review of Day 1 of the 49ers training camp on his X account and seemed to ridicule Purdy’s performances as the quarterback apparently threw a couple of interceptions.

Cohn has in the past condemned Brock Purdy and definitely does not think too much of the starting quarterback. Despite what Cohn has to say, the San Francisco 49ers management have decided that Brock Purdy is definitely their quarterback, at least all the way up to the 2030 season after giving a whopping contract extension during the offseason.
“The 49ers wrapped up Day 1 of training camp. Brock Purdy was there. He threw two interceptions. The first one, it was a pop up down the field. Slipped out of his hand. And in fairness to him, I think there might have been moisture on the ball. Maybe a little precipitation cause it’s hot out here. Maybe he gripped it a little too hard and it slipped out of his hand. So I’m gonna give that one a pass. The next one though was a pick six… That wasn’t great. He was trying to learn what happens if you throw a ball right to the linebacker. It’s a pick six.” Grant Cohn spoke about Brock Purdy’s performance at the 49ers training camp.

Brock Purdy was given a major contract extension by the San Francisco 49ers for a massive sum of $265 million, making him one of the highest paid quarterbacks in the National Football League today. Purdy was not the only one who was given a major contract upgrade by the team this offseason. Tight end George Kittle was also handed an extension, which makes him the highest-paid tight end in the league as of now.
Brock Purdy And 49ers Look Forward To A Better NFL Season
It is clear that Brock Purdy and the San Francisco 49ers are going all out to improve their record in the upcoming NFL season. In the 2024 campaign, the 49ers did not make it anywhere close to the playoffs and the experience was truly bitter for the team.

This time out, the 49ers seem to be stubbornly aiming for the Super Bowl and nothing less and have also invested time and money in revamping their roster during the offseason. Purdy and the 49ers will be soon opening their 2025 campaign with a matchup against the Seattle Seahawks.
