The Miami Dolphins announce the new defensive coordinator
The Miami Dolphins have officially announced their new defensive coordinator. The team fired Josh Boyer following the 2022 season, in which they made the playoffs and narrowly lost to the Buffalo Bills in the playoffs with a backup quarterback. Boyer was a part of former Dolphins head coach Brian Flores’ regime.
On Wednesday, the Dolphins announced hiring a defensive coordinator, which wasn’t surprising in South Beach. According to a statement by the Dolphins, Vic Fangio will be the next defensive coordinator.

Fangio was expected to be named the Dolphins’ defensive coordinator before the Super Bowl. He took a break from coaching the regular season after being fired as the Denver Broncos head coach. Fangio signed a two-week contract to help assist the Philadelphia Eagles’ offense prep for the Super Bowl.
The Eagles’ offense played well, but the team fell short of the Super Bowl. Now he’ll be tasked with turning around a defense that ranked 24th in points given up for the 2022 season.
