The Kansas City Chiefs are one of two undefeated teams after four weeks of the 2024 NFL season — and once again — it looks like the defending Super Bowl champs are the team to beat this year.
Somehow, some way, the Chiefs continue to find ways to win games despite plenty of distractions away from the field that would throw many teams off track.
Heading into a season with so much on the line, the organization would ideally like to avoid as many distractions as possible heading into 2024, but the opposite has been true.

Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice made the news over the summer and his availability for 2024 was a major question mark coming into the new year.
Rice was a second-round pick in the 2023 NFL draft and his rookie season ended with a Super Bowl victory. He was a key part of the effort as he broke the NFL postseason rookie receptions record with 26 catches The Chiefs star picked up right where he left off in 2024, but suffered an injury on Sunday that will leave him sidelined for a significant period of time. In the meantime, he is still facing multiple felony charges due to a multi-vehicle crash that happened in Dallas in March.
Right when the Rice stuff started to die down a little bit, Harrison Butker — the Chiefs kicker, who is one of the best players at his position in the NFL — brought more controversy to the organization due to a speech he gave at a Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas. During his commencement speech, Butker was accused of making homophobic, sexist and misogynistic remarks.
The speech from the Kansas City Chiefs kicker has led to division, with outrage coming from one group of people and praise from another, and his jersey was one of the most sold amongst all NFL players in the week following his remarks.
And then of course there’s the Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift constant storyline. The Chiefs tight end has had a slow start to the 2024 season and there have been rumblings if Kelce is taking football as seriously as he used to, considering his opportunities off the field have skyrocketed since he began dating Swift.
There was even a viral document claiming the relationship was all a PR stunt, but Kelce hired lawyers and unless the power couple has the entire world fooled, it looks like the real thing.

As Rice begins to heal from his knee injury he suffered against the Rams, his mother is being accused of stealing a package from a neighbor’s front door, and the event has been captured on video.

The homeowner’s doorbell camera has been revealed and it captured a woman in a Rashee Rice jersey, customized to spell ‘Momma Rice’ across the back, walking past their front door. Before leaving the camera’s shot, the Kansas City Chiefs star’s mom appears to glance down at something at the front of their neighbor’s door. Some time later, she walked past the door once again and appears to pick up the package and walk outside of the camera’s range with it in-hand
According to multiple reports, the stolen package contained limited edition records by artist Chappell Roan. As of now it’s been reported a police report has been filed, but there’s no word on any action being taken.
