The Jacksonville Jaguars extend a quarterback
The Jacksonville Jaguars kept depth for their locker room next season. The Jaguars will look to improve upon their 2022 season, which saw them win the AFC South and a Wild Card round game against the Los Angeles Chargers. Starting quarterback, Trevor Lawrence took a major leap with the Jaguars last season.
Now the team wants to keep the quarterback room stable in 2023. According to Mike Garafolo with the NFL Network, the Jaguars extended backup quarterback C.J. Beathard for 2023. He was going to become a free agent if the Jaguars did not extend him.

The former third-round pick has appeared in six games for the Jaguars in the previous two seasons. He’s thrown for 68 yards, no touchdowns, and one interception while with the Jaguars. Beathard is the number two quarterback listed on the team’s depth chart. He has previous experience as a starter with the San Francisco 49ers.
