Sean Payton will be the next Head Coach of the Denver Broncos.
Denver Broncos Acquire Sean Payton
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Denver Broncos have acquired now-former New Orleans Saints Head Coach, Sean Payton.
Breaking: Saints and Broncos are finalizing compensation in return for Super Bowl-winning HC Sean Payton, sources tell ESPN. This clears the way for Payton to sign with the Broncos to become Denver’s next head coach.

Per the report, the Broncos will hand the Saints heavy compensation for Sean Payton as the club is set to part ways with both their first and second-round draft choices in this coming April’s draft while they’ll acquire the Saints’ third-round selection in this year’s draft as well as Payton.
Compensation: Denver’s 2023 first-round pick and next year’s second-round pick for Sean Payton and the Saints’ 2024 third.

Sean Payton Accolades
Following a brief two-year playing career in multiple leagues, including a stop with the Chicago Bears, Payton quickly made the transition from the gridiron to the sidelines. Payton began his coaching career as an offensive assistant at San Diego State before departing to Indiana State for just one season before returning to the Aztecs as the team’s tailback coach. Stops in Miami (Ohio) and Illinois rounded out Payton’s collegiate coaching career as he’d jump over to the NFL in 1997, where he’d become the Philadelphia Eagles’ QB coach. Payton’s coached with the Eagles, Giants, and Cowboys, before securing his first head coaching job in 2006 with the New Orleans Saints. Payton would lead the club to their first Super Bowl victory in 2009 where the Saints defeated Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts 31-17 in Super Bowl XLIV.
