The Boise State Broncos fighting for the close win over UNLV Rebels. Boise State goes from #17 to #15 in the AP top 25 rankings. UNLV continues to push towards the top 25. If the Broncos want to reach the top 12 selected to contend for the national championship, they will have to do better than winning by 5. The remainder of their schedule has no top 25 teams, so most would consider their schedule to be less difficult. BSU is currently undefeated at home and they have reportedly already sold out on their final home games. This makes history as the first year they have been sold out for regular season home games!
Broncos were victorious over San Diego St, Nevada, SJSU, and Wyoming the last time they played. They lost to Oregon state in their last meeting. BSU all time record against Oregon state is 4 wins and 6 losses, although this might be the team to pull it off. Earlier this year on September 7th they suffered their only loss of the season to the Oregon Ducks 34-37. BSU has the 3rd highest (44.3) PPG in college football and Oregon state is 73rd (27.4). BSU defense has allowed 26 points per game and Oregon state defense has allowed 30 points per game. BSU is 9 for 11 on 4th down conversions and 31 out of 33 for redzone attempt-scores.
Boise State Broncos setting a powerful tempo with the new 24-25 college playoff change
Last season, Head Coach Spencer Danielson was given an opportunity to help the Broncos reach their full potential. He ended with a record of 3-1 and went on to lose the LA bowl to UCLA. He is back and making a splash with the Broncos starting 6-1. It is clear the locker room, the university, and the fans are happy with Coach Danielson at the helm.
Ashton Jeanty leading college football with 1,376 rushing yards for the season and 2nd most rushing touchdowns at 18. Maddux Madsen having a great year with 13 passing touchdown, only 2 interceptions thrown, and a qb rating of 146.83. Their high powered run game helps open up pass lanes and gives their defense a chance to rest.
It is a memorable year for BSU and their fans with a coach in the running for coach of the year, a running back in the Heisman trophy conversation, and a potential run at the national championship.
