The Boise State Broncos hired Spencer Danielson to be the head coach of this football program last offseason. This year, Boise State finished with a 10-2 record and won the Mountain West Conference title. They earned a spot in the college football playoffs as a G5 team.
The Broncos were awarded the number three seed in the college football playoffs bracket. Boise State will also have a first-round bye. The Boise State Broncos will face either the #11 SMU Mustangs or the #6 Penn State Nittany Lions in the quarterfinals of the college football playoffs.
Boise State Broncos Head Coach Spencer Danielson Calls Out ESPN’s Rece Davis In Press Conference On Monday
The Broncos players heard Rece Davis of ESPN talk about the Penn State Nittany Lions having a favorable path to the semifinals. Head coach Spencer Danielson said in a press conference on Monday:
“Great. Love it. That’s what this place is built on – that chip on their shoulder. Please count us out.”
These players are going to use this as motivation. Boise State has one of the best players in the country this season in running back Ashton Jeanty. He was a finalist for the Heisman Trophy. Jeanty rushed for 2,497 yards on 344 carries and 29 touchdowns, along with averaging 7.3 yards per carry. He also caught 20 passes for 116 yards receiving and one touchdown, along with averaging 5.8 yards per reception.

I’m officially an adopted Boise State and ASU (yuck) fan this postseason. Not a single supposed “expert” picked EITHER of them to win the Fiesta Bowl or the Peach Bowl DESPITE both of them being the higher seeded team. The only ones who “picked” them were after just for fun they…

These are some very interesting comments from college football fans about the Broncos and there head coach. Time will tell if Boise State can get to the semifinals in the college football playoffs or if they will lose to either SMU or Penn State.

BSU went 11-1 not 10-2. Their only loss is to the Ducks. Oregon is the only undefeated team and BSU, Army, Indiana, and Notre Dame are the only 1 loss teams left after the conference championship games. The fact that Army is left out of the playoffs is ridiculous. Tennessee and Ohioh State do not deserve bids over Army when every other 1 loss team made the playoffs.
