The Buffalo Bills will be going into the 2025 season with the same expectations they’ve had for years now, to win the Super Bowl. As long as Josh Allen is under center, the organization will expect to compete for a championship.
However, the team had some troubling injury news to announce just before the start of the season.
“His Entire Season Is In Question” Bills Receive Devastating Injury News To Star (Report)

Before their first pre-season game next weekend, the Buffalo Bills revealed a worrisome injury update on Khalil Shakir:
Earlier today, Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports reported that Khalil Shakir suffered a high ankle sprain that will sideline him for four to five weeks. Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, head coach Sean McDermott confirmed the injury and said Shakir is “week to week.”
The Bills kick off preseason play at home against the New York Giants next Saturday (1:00 p.m. EST). They’ll wrap up the preseason with visits against the Chicago Bears (Aug. 17) and Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Aug. 23).
After a breakout season in 2024, Khalil Shakir signed a four-year contract extension worth up to $60.2 million. Shakir caught 76 passes for 821 yards and four touchdowns, helping Josh Allen win his first MVP Award.

Shakir has also been productive in the postseason, with 33 catches for 340 yards and two touchdowns in seven games.
Shakir’s Bills will host Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens on “Sunday Night Football” to kick off the 2025 campaign on Sept. 7. This will be a rematch of last season’s thrilling Divisional Round tilt that Buffalo won 27-25.
With Shakir week-to-week, we’ll monitor his injury status and see if Allen might be without his top pass-catcher against a stingy Baltimore defense.
