The Buffalo Bills and their tight end Dawson Knox have agreed to a four-year, $53.6 million extension, which will include north of $31 million in guarantees.
The Bills selected Knox in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft. In years one and two, Knox recorded almost 700 receiving yards and five touchdowns. Last season, however, the tight end took a giant leap, setting a career-best in every receiving statistic. In 2021, the big man hauled in 49 receptions, 587 receiving yards, and found the end-zone nine times. Despite missing two games due to a calf injury, Knox’s breakout season was indeed enough to gain him job security through 2026.
With arguably one of the NFL’s best QBs, Josh Allen, under contract for Buffalo through 2028, we can expect Knox to only improve in his upcoming fourth year and beyond. Earlier this offseason, Knox spoke highly about Allen to reporters, saying “there’s nothing that guy can’t do.” Knox added, “it’s every receiver, tight end, running back, it’s everyone’s dream to play with a guy like that.”

Dawson Knox undoubtedly has the potential to make a significant impact on Buffalo’s offense moving forward. Expect Knox and Allen to improve upon their chemistry in 2022 and for the big man to continuously be a reliable end-zone option. Money well spent for the Bills.
