The Pro Football Hall of Fame vote often settles coaching legacies. For Bill Belichick’s girlfriend Jordon Hudson and longtime passer Tom Brady, this winter’s result felt different.
Last week, the Hall informed the 73-year-old coach that he missed the induction. He fell short of the 40 of 50 votes needed for first ballot status.

Privately, the 24-year-old partner has treated the snub as an insult, pushing her to organize something more pointed.
People and Yahoo report she will hold a huge bash on August 8, the same day as the Hall ceremony.
The guest list reportedly includes the seven-time champion quarterback, Jimmy Johnson, Bill Parcells and many of the coach’s loud supporters.
“The purpose of the bash is to celebrate alongside all of his people,” a source told People.
In effect, the 24-year-old is recruiting her partner’s most famous pupil to answer the Hall from a private ballroom.
Earlier in the week, the 46-year-old quarterback called the vote baffling. On Seattle Sports, he said, “I just think that to me, I don’t understand it.”
He added that if his former coach is not first-ballot, there really is no coach who should ever be.
Belichick owns eight Super Bowl rings, six as New England Patriots head coach and two as New York Giants defensive coordinator. His teams reached 9 Super Bowls overall.
Including playoffs, he stands at 333 wins and 178 losses, trailing only Don Shula’s 347 victories on the all-time list.
ESPN reported that some Hall voters raised Spygate and Deflategate, and one associate said he asked whether six Super Bowls were enough.

The Hall selection committee has 50 voters, and a candidate must earn 80 percent support to reach induction on that ballot.
Only Don Shula, Chuck Noll and Tom Landry ever entered as first ballot head coaches, which makes any initial rejection stand out.
While the Tar Heels went 4-8 and 2-6 in ACC play, the relationship with the former cheerleader stayed visible and polarizing.
They first met in February 2021 on a commercial flight from the Boston area to Florida, talking over her Deductive Logic textbook.
If Brady and other supporters fill that August room, the unofficial gathering may deepen pressure on voters before the Class of 2027 discussion.
