The Giants offense has been below average in the past few seasons. However, major changes have been made ahead of the upcoming 2022-2023 season. The Giants have moved on to new GM Joe Schoen to guide the franchise through its rebuild. Schoen brought on a familiar face in Brian Daboll to be the head coach, who he worked alongside during his time in Buffalo as the assistant GM. The pair hope to bring the Giants back as a formidable opponent and contender in the league, but first they must answer some major questions on offense. Lets dive into the top five biggest questions surrounding the Giants offense this season.
5. How will Brian Daboll’s offense transfer?
Buffalo found some significant success with their OC and QB combination of Daboll and Josh Allen. The latter has been an MVP candidate in recent years and has played a role in Daboll getting the opportunity to be the head honcho of the Giants. Daniel Jones is not Josh Allen, however, and that is obvious. There’s no doubt Daboll has pieces to work with, including Saquon Barkley, Kenny Golladay, and 2021 first round pick Kadarius Toney who showed flashes during his injury plagued rookie season. To find out how well the offense can mesh together, though, we will have to wait and see.
4. Can the team stay healthy?
There’s no doubt that injuries are a part of the NFL. Every team deals with them, but the teams that deal with them the best usually do well. In past seasons the Giants have been ravaged by injuries on offense. Jones has suffered some head and neck injuries. Barkley has been slowed by lower body injuries, and the offensive line and wide receiver groups have also been bit. If the Giants can keep some of their key players on the field it will certainly help their case.
3. Can Saquon Barkley return to rookie season form?
Getting Saquon back to rookie season form is a big ask. He was one of the best backs in the league contained big play potential every time he touched the ball. Barkley has been looking and feeling good in camp so far, saying it’s the healthiest he’s felt in years. Take a look for yourself.

If Barkley can run like this during the season, and if the offensive line can efficiently and effectively create holes for him, he could be looking at a big bounce back season.
2. How consistent can the O-line play?
The Giants offensive line has probably been the shakiest unit of the team over the past five seasons. The only thing it has done consistebtly over the past half decade is rank in the bottom half of the league. Andrew Thomas provided some hope for Giants fans last season that things may be on the upswing, now adding top pick Evan Neal only adds to the hope that this unit may be able to protect its QB and create space for Barkley. Last season the o-line struggled with discipline, as it was constantly hit with false starts. It’ll be interesting to see if Daboll and Schoen’s revamped and upgraded o-line can make the adjustments needed to help the Giants win football games.
1. Is Daniel Jones the guy?
Every single Giants fan in the world has an opinion on Daniel Jones. Some hate him, some love him. Some believe he has been terribly wronged by former GM Dave Gettleman and Giants management. Jones’ results with the Giants so far have not been good, there is no denying that. There is also no denying that he has been in one of the most unstable situations in the NFL.
This season once Daboll coaches a game for the Giants, he will be Jones’ third coach that he’s had in four seasons, learning a new system nearly each year he has spent in the league. Not only that, but Jones has also had a suspect and constantly changing o line in front of him each year. If the offensive line improves, does that mean Jones will? Not exactly, but he deserves the shot to play in a system that isn’t destined to fail from the very beginnin
