Every week of college football is another week closer to the end of the season. It also means it is time for Monday’s Big 12 Power Rankings. Each and every week SpikedJohnnyB has his power rankings out for the PAC 12, SEC, Big 10, Big 12 and ACC. The host of Spiked College Football Show and Units Only Go Up ranks every single power five team. Where did your team fall this week?

Big 12 Power Rankings: Title Contenders

    #1 Texas

Remember, people, these are power rankings not standings. So Horned Frog fans, chill. As I so accurately stated on last week’s Big 12 power rankings, Texas would beat Kansas State to put themselves in a position for the title. The Longhorns have perfectly set their season up to play for the Big 12 title at the end of the year. They play TCU this week and Baylor next week; two teams ahead of them in the standings. If they win out, they insure a spot in the title game. This team, lead by Ewers who got the road monkey off his back, is poised to make a run at a double digit win year.

    #2 Baylor

The Bears are on a three game win streak lead by their offense scoring over 30 points in each of those games. They still control their own destiny for a shot at the Big 12 title game at the end of the year. I believe they beat Kansas State this week, TCU the week after. Both games are at home. Then comes their biggest test of the year, Texas on the road. Both teams probably fighting to get into the title game.

    # 3 TCU

Johnny, how come the undefeated Horned Frogs are not at the top of the Big 12 power rankings? I still don’t believe this team will beat Texas this week, and then beat Baylor the week after; both games on the road. When that happens, both Texas and Baylor will have the tie breaker versus the Horned Frogs and if they win out, leave TCU out of the title game. I am 100% telling you, this will happen. TCU will lose the next two games. Their luck has run out. Max Duggan has played great football, but the Longhorns and Bears defenses will shut them down and the offenses will come to play. Bye bye, fraud Frogs.

    #4 Kansas State

I think there is like a 2 % chance that the Wildcats could win the conference. I told you last week that they would lose to Texas this past week; that was obvious. If they do beat Baylor and win out, with some help, they could get to the title game. I think they can win out. I think the Baylor game this week will be close and it is an elimination game for the Big 12 title. We will have to see which Wildcats team shows up. The one that played Oklahoma State or the one from last week with penalties and turnovers.

Big 12 Power Rankings: Bowl Teams

    #5 Kansas

I was so wrong in last week’s Big 12 power rankings, stating the Jayhawks wouldn’t be top 5. I am very happy that Leipold has them securely in bowl season. They kicked the Pokes while they were down with no remorse. The Jayhawks and QB Jason Bean looked great completing over 70% of his passes for over 200 yards and 2 tds. While the Kansas defense shut down Ok State’s backup QB and the offense holding them to only 16 points and turning them over 3 times. Kansas, no matter what, is going bowling for the first time since 2008!

    #6 Oklahoma

I am pissed at this team. They made me look bad losing last week to Baylor. I said they would win out last week and save their season. I was wrong and I don’t like being wrong. I am saying it again, so don’t screw it up, Sooners. You will win out and salvage this year with a bowl appearance and a win in Bedlam. This may be the least anticipated Bedlam game in 20 years, but a win in that is still valuable for bragging rights.

    #7 Oklahoma State

I mean, I guess I put them here. They are guaranteed to make a bowl game, but this team has looked terrible  the last few weeks. Mike Gundy is a good coach who can’t win big games, but he has never looked this bad in back to back week in, I can’t even remember. Maybe the karma from the Ok State fans running their mouths about making the playoff has caught up to the Cowboys. This team seems broken and uninterested. I wouldn’t favor them versus anyone in this conference right now.

    Big 12 Power Rankings:Eh Teams

    #8 Iowa State

I am putting the Cyclones here because maybe Matt Campbell is a good coach and can win two more games to get this team to a bowl. They are always competitive in Big 12 games but seem to lose close ones. They get Oklahoma State at the perfect time this week. The Pokes are coming off two embarrassing losses and look disinterested and dysfunctional. If they steal one from them, the game versus Tech, a team ranked just one spot lower, can determine whether the Cyclones go bowling. I put them just ahead of Tech because that game is at home and the Red Raiders are 0-4 in road games.

    #9 Texas Tech

They are a great team at home, but they are terrible on the road. Good news for the 4-5 Red Raiders, who are looking to become bowl eligible; two of their last three games are at home and are against teams they can compete with. I think they lose in Ames to the Cyclones. That means they need to beat Kansas this week at home and pull a minor upset at home versus the Sooners to end the year.

Big 12 Power Rankings: Did You Fire Neal Brown Yet?

    #10 West Virginia

Well, did you? No!? Well, you have too much talent and football history to talk about if you don’t handle firing your shitty coach. He is holding you back. Fire him, then we can play Country Roads.
