During this free agency period, the Indianapolis Colts went out and used their money to sign big-name players like Stephon Gilmore and Yannick Ngakoue. Along with that, trading for former MVP quarterback Matt Ryan and recently drafting Cinncinati wideout Alex Peirce. However, there are still some quality players left in free agency available that could make an impact for the Colts this year.
Good Free Agents Are Still Out There
Julio Jones
Why not team Matt Ryan and himself up one more time? The Colts are slim at WR, and Julio could come right in and help the young receivers develop. Unfortunately, injuries have derailed his productivity over the past couple of seasons.
Even though he may not be as effective as he was in Atlanta, it might help Ryan feel better in Indy if his #1 guy is on the sideline with you. It might get Julio back on track as well.
Duane Brown
The left tackle spot is one of the most significant gaps the Colts have been desperately trying to fill. With Anthony Castonzo retiring and Erik Fisher massively underperforming, they might want to try again this year with Brown.
Brown is a 5-time Pro Bowler and a key reason the Houston Texans were so effective years ago. The Colts pride themselves on having a solid offensive line and winning in the trenches. Adding Brown would solidify the line and create havoc with Quenton Nelson on his left.
Honorable Mentions:
OBJ
Indy really needs to get some more weapons for Matt Ryan. Before getting injured, Odell looked amazing for the LA Rams. Showing up in the big moments and giving us flashes of the playmaker we used to watch in New York.
