There are a lot of talented players in college football, and Clemson Tigers quarterback Cade Klubnik is one of the best returning players this upcoming season. One college football analyst believes in his abilities and should continue to dominate. Let’s take a deeper dive into who it is and why he likes Klubnik here.
Cade Klubnik Has High Expectations in 2025
During Monday’s show, FOX Sports college football analyst Joel Klatt ranked the top 10 players in the sport and made Cade Klubnik the highest-ranking quarterback on his list before giving him a massive compliment.
“I think Cade Klubnik is going to be the best quarterback in the country. I think he’s going to have a great chance to win the Heisman Trophy.”
Cade Klubnik had an excellent 2024 season with the Clemson Tigers as he completed 308 of 486 (63.4%) of his passes for 3,639 yards with 36 passing touchdowns to six interceptions while also adding 119 rushing attempts for 463 yards (3.9 yards per carry) with seven rushing touchdowns.
“He grew last year in major ways and now, all of a sudden, he’s going to be – not even all of a sudden. Now he will be a third-year starter for the third year in the same system. So now he’s going to have a third year with Garrett Riley, the offensive coordinator. I know that they’ve got questions at running back. I understand that, but they’ve recruited well, they’ve got a top-five running back in the country coming in. He’s got Garrett Riley, quality wide receivers, and I believe four offensive linemen back. Yeah, man, like, Klubnik should be excellent.
“This idea that, like, he was the reason they struggled? I just disagree with. He finished with 36 passing touchdowns and seven rushing touchdowns, just threw six interceptions so he takes care of the football. He’s athletic – maybe not (Arch) Manning but athletic, maybe not (Trevor) Lawrence but athletic. And he’s got great players in front of him – four senior offensive linemen, all played before. Quality wide receivers. Good, dynamic, young albeit, running back. And he’s going to have a great defense.”
It will be interesting to see if the Clemson Tigers can be a legitimate threat for the national championship, as that seems to be the way Klubnik can be in contention for the Heisman Trophy. This is not a universal belief though as another college football analyst believes an SEC quarterback is the best in the nation.
