The new NFL season hasn’t even started, and the offseason is already off to a blazing start. Before the legal tampering stage begins, big names have hit the market. Here are their best landing spots.
Davante Adams

Davante Adams is still playing at a high-level of football. In 14 games Adams racked up 85 catches for 1,063 yards and 8 touchdowns. But he’s no spring chicken, Adams turned 32 in December. Adams will likely want to join a contender. And even though they missed the post-season in 2024, the 49ers are the perfect home for Adams.
San Francisco has already traded away Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk is on the trade block. A bona fide star like Adams will immediately be Brock Purdy’s top target. When the 49ers are healthy, they are title contenders. And they will try to make one more Super Bowl run before they have to pay Brock Purdy.
Adam’s is also from California, and an hour away from San Francisco. So he gets to finish his career back in the bay area, competing for a ring.
Joey Bosa

Joey Bosa’s best days are behind him. He only has 14 sacks in the last three seasons. At this point in his career, he’ll likely be used exclusively as a third-down pass rusher. He will receive a cheaper contract and provide depth more than anything. So the former Buckeye ends up with the team up north, and lands with the Detroit Lions.
The Lions only had 37 total sacks last season, sixth least in the NFL. When Aidan Hutchinson is down, this team desperately needs any pass rush help it can get. Bosa would be the perfect player to throw into Kelvin Sheppard’s system. The Lions are the perfect landing spot for him. Not only does he get to compete for a Super Bowl, but also a chance to revive his career playing for such a great team.
Darius Slay

Slay has stated that he wants to play for one more season. And after winning his first Super Bowl, the perfect landing spot for Slay is back in Detroit with the Lions. He gets one chance to win with the team that drafted him.
As a whole, Detroit has a young secondary. Even if he doesn’t play, adding a veteran and leader like Slay could vastly improve the defense. This move would also help the Lions, adding a player who’s won a ring helps elevate his team to that level.
Slay gets an opportunity to ride off into the Detroit sunset.
Tyler Lockett

Tyler Lockett spent nearly a decade with Pete Carroll in Seattle. In those nine seasons he put up 7,994 yards and 59 touchdowns on 612 catches. Now with Lockett on the open market, the perfect landing spot for him is back with Carroll in Las Vegas.
After trading away Davante Adams last season, the Raiders had one of the worst receiver rooms in the league. Jakobi Meyers is the only notable wide receiver. And with a new quarterback on the way, the Raiders need to add weapons.
The Raiders have a number one target in Brock Bowers, and Meyers is a decent second option. Lockett would be a great third option for any quarterback, especially a young one. He could also help players get up to speed, already knowing Carroll’s offense.
Aaron Rodgers

The best landing spot for Rodgers is retirement. At this point he is only hurting his legacy. But if he decides to play one more season it should be with the Tennessee Titans. At this point in his career, no contender will sign Rodgers, so he’ll be a bridge quarterback for Tennessee.
It seems unlikely that the Titans are going to use the first overall pick on a quarterback. They’ll need a veteran. Rodgers is the best choice because he’d be a great mentor for Will Levis, and would still keep the fans engaged with a future hall of fame quarterback.
