The Cincinnati Bengals are going into their week five contest against the Green Bay Packers with more questions than answers at the quarterback position. When Joe Burrow went down with an injury, the outlook of the entire season changed.
However, they are hoping a new era can bring them back into playoff conversation.
Breaking News: Bengals name starting quarterback against Packers

Before star quarterback Joe Burrow was placed on injured reserve with turf toe, the Cincinnati Bengals had big ambitions this season. While he’s out for most of the season, he may be able to return to the field later in the year if the Bengals make the playoffs:
The hope was that Jake Browning could at least keep the team afloat, but that hasn’t been the case. He’s gone 0-3 as a starter and has thrown eight interceptions. This is why the Bengals ultimately decided to trade for Cleveland Browns quarterback Joe Flacco.
Though he’s just joining the team, the Bengals are wasting little time getting him on the field.
On Wednesday, Bengals head coach Zac Taylor announced that Flacco will be the starting quarterback in Week 6 vs. the Green Bay Packers. While this is a quarterback turnaround for Flacco, he was starting games for the Browns earlier in the season.

He should at least be ready to play, despite not knowing Taylor’s system perfectly. At this point, the Bengals have to try something. Browning has been a major disappointment, but Cincinnati has too many good players to just give up on the season.
Unfortunately for Flacco, he doesn’t have an easy task in Week 6. The Green Bay Packers are one of the best teams in the NFL and are coming off a bye week. Micah Parsons remains an elite pass rusher who could feast on a suspect Bengals offensive line.
While this isn’t an ideal situation to throw Flacco into, the team had to do something quickly. Perhaps the veteran quarterback can make some magic happen on a short week.
