The Cincinnati Bengals had a tough start to the season when they lost to the New England Patriots at home.  Cincinnati was shut out until late in the third quarter when Zack Moss had a five yard touchdown run with 1:10 left in the third.  The scoreboard read 16-10 in favor of New England when they score went final.

Cincinnati will go on the road to face the defending Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs in week two.  Star wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase had some choice words ahead of that matchup.

According to Bengals beat reporter Jay Morrison:

Ja’Marr Chase: We’re the team to beat in the AFC. We need to act like it, and we need to play like it.

Cincinatti is coming off a 9-8 season that saw them miss the playoffs entirely.  They also dropped their week one game to a Patriots team who is once again starting over and quarterback.

Yes injuries derailed their 2023 season, and they were a powerhouse in 2021-2022, but fans thought it was interesting that Chase think Cincinnati is currently the team to beat in the AFC:
