The Atlanta Falcons were hosting the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday afternoon. Kirk Cousins struggled at home in a 17-13 loss against the Chargers for the Falcons.
In the loss, Cousins completed 61.5% of his passes for 245 yards, zero touchdowns, and four interceptions. It was a rough day for Kirk Cousins and many Falcons fans are fed up. The Chargers improved to 8-4 on the win and the Falcons fell to 6-6 with the loss.
Atlanta Falcons Fans Want Kirk Cousins Benched For Michael Penix Jr. After the Latest Loss
The Falcons fanbase appears to have had enough of Cousins. They signed him to a four-year deal in the offseason and he also has a no-trade clause in his contract. Atlanta also drafted Michael Penix Jr. in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft and some feel like it is finally time for him to start.

It would be interesting to see if the Atlanta Falcons did bench Kirk Cousins for Michael Penix Jr. For now, the Falcons are still in first place in the NFC South, so they are probably not going to do it. It would be a shock if they did do it. The move will probably come next year if anything.
Cousins Stats
This season, Cousins has completed 68.1% of his passes for 2,807 yards, 17 touchdowns, and nine interceptions. He is seventh in the NFL in passing yards, but that is not why fans want him benched. There have been times this season when Kirk Cousins has not looked great.
It is possible that the quarterback play could derail the Falcons season for the second consecutive season. Atlanta has five games remaining in the 2024 season so Cousins still has to redeem himself even if fans want him benched for Michael Penix Jr.
