The new head coach of the Chicago Bears, Ben Johnson, is going to do a lot of things differently in the team. In fact, they are not going to be anything similar to what he has done as offensive coordinator for the Detroit Lions, according to Ben Johnson himself. Speaking to ‘Breakfast Ball’, Ben Johnson mentioned that he hopes to mold a different kind of culture, and will also not focus on wins or losses in his first season as coach.
Ben Johnson was also asked if he will be implementing the same tactics and strategies that he used for the Detroit Lions. To this, the Chicago Bears HC said that he would be coming up with his own version of things in his new team.
“Listen. It’s a mindset that gets established early in the springtime, and it carries over throughout training camp. We talk about next man up, and we talk about handling resiliency and adversity and the grit that defined that particular team. And so listen, we’re going to have our own spin okay, and we’re going to have our own talking points, but it’s going to be the Chicago way from here on out, and I’m looking forward to getting to know this locker room and this group of men, I hear nothing but high character and high remarks about this group.” Ben Johnson said on ‘Breakfast Ball’.

Ben Johnson started his coaching journey as a graduate assistant for the Boston College football team, before being promoted to tight ends coach. His first stint in the NFL was with the Miami Dolphins as an offensive assistant from which he climbed the ladder to becoming the wide receivers coach for the 2018 season.

The Detroit Lions soon sought Ben Johnson out as an offensive quality control coach, eventually moving him up to become the offensive coordinator for the team. The Detroit Lions finished the regular season on the top of the NFC North with a 15-2 record, and were recently thrown out of the playoffs after losing to the Washington Commanders.

Ben Johnson Will Earn More Than $10 Million Per Season
While Ben Johnson will definitely bring plenty to the table when it comes to coaching the Chicago Bears, he also comes with a pretty high price tag. According to reports, Ben Johnson will be making more $10 million USD in each session, $13 million dollars to be precise.

With this salary, Ben Johnson will be the seventh highest-paid coach in the NFL. Currently, Andy Reid, who is the head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs, has the highest salary among coaches, i.e. $20 million per season.
