Ben Johnson, the new head coach for the Chicago Bears, seemed to dodge a question about his predecessor, Matt Eberflus in his recent appearance on ‘Breakfast Ball’. Johnson has been appointed as head coach for Chicago to replace Eberflus who was fired before NFL Week 14 after his decision cost the Bears the game against the Detroit Lions.
In that game, the Chicago Bears lost to the Detroit Lions with a final score of 23-20. Quarterback Caleb Williams scored three touchdowns after completing 20 passes out of 39 attempts for 256 yards, while also leading the rushing with four carries for 39 yards. With 36 seconds left and Williams holding the ball, Eberflus failed to call a timeout and instead rushed the offense which ended in an embarrassing defeat.
“We’re not going there today, we’re not going there.” Ben Johnson said on ‘Breakfast Ball’ to Danny Parkins.
.@DannyParkins draws a VERY VERY specific hypothetical situation to Ben Johnson, but the Bears HC wasn’t taking the bait 😂👀

This was in response to Parkins’ question about what Ben Johnson would have done as a coach if he faced the same situation that Matt Eberflus faced. Johnson smartly moved the question aside and went on to discuss other matters. With Eberflus in charge, the Chicago Bears faced a disappointing season and ended it in last place in the NFC North with five wins and 12 defeats.

Ben Johnson Is Not Focused On Winning In His Debut Year
Ben Johnson gave some deep insights in an introductory press conference, into what fans and analysts can expect from his first year as head coach for the Chicago Bears. Before joining the Bears as head coach, Johnson was the offensive coordinator for the Detroit Lions and was a strong reason for the team’s impressive numbers in the most recent NFL season.

Surprisingly, Johnson said that he is not focused on wins or losses for his first year as head coach with the Chicago Bears. Apparently, Johnson wants to deconstruct the team and create a strong team culture.

While Williams just completed his first season with the Chicago Bears, many sports forums concluded that the QB was not used well, and could do much better with a new coach. Johnson went on to say that he aims to bring more ‘accountability and integrity’ into the team and wants to ‘define what a Chicago Bear looks like both on and off the field’.
