Bears: Justin Fields Throws Former Team Under The Bus In Ruthless Way

The Chicago Bears moved on from Justin Fields this past off-season in favor of Caleb Williams.  Williams was the first overall draft pick and widely regarded as one of the best quarterback prospects in recent memory.

Fields was Chicago’s first round draft pick in 2021, he was taken 11th.  When asked about his former team, he had some pretty interesting to say.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are preparing to start Fields for the third consecutive game.

He was traded to Pittsburgh in March of 2024 and is currently 2-0 with the Steelers, who are alone atop the AFC North.

So far through two games, Fields’ replacement, rookie Caleb Williams, has struggled a great deal. During an interview with Fox News Digital on September 18, Fields was asked about Williams’ future performance. Fields responded strongly and supportively:

“I think he’s going to be fine,” Fields told Fox News Digital. “It’s his second game. He just got done playing. He’s talented, he has all the talent in the world. They drafted him No. 1 overall for a reason.”

“Of course, it’s just not him, but he’s going to get most of the blame just because of the position he’s in,” Fields added. “But just as a whole … the guys over there I know … they want to be better, and I think they’re going to be better.”

In his first two seasons with the Bears, Fields lacked quality offensive playmakers. In 2023, the Bears traded for receiver DJ Moore, which helped, but they also had the No. 1 pick in the 2024 draft as a result of a trade with the Carolina Panthers. Ryan Poles decided to move on from Fields and use the pick on Williams.

Fields received a lot of blame for Chicago’s struggles while he was there, he thinks it will be the same for Williams.

It’s funny how he thinks he’s good but in reality he sucks and they’re only winning because of their D.
