The Baltimore Ravens
The Baltimore Ravens are primed to have their star players return to the field as a healthy group nearing the start of new season. HC John Harbaugh is especially excited about seeing star cornerback Marlon Humphrey return to the field. Humphrey missed the last five games of the season in 2021 due to a tear in his pectoral. His return will help improve a bottom five pass defense from last season.
Healthy RBs
The Ravens will also see rookie sensation from the 2020 season, JK Dobbins make his return in 2022. Dobbins suffered a tear in his ACL just before the start of the 2021 season. Joining Dobbins in recovery from a devastating knee injury is veteran RB Gus Edwards.
Injuries to the RB room forced the Ravens to piece together a rag tag group of RBs. Tyson Williams, Leveon Bell, and Devonta Freeman displayed mixed on field results in 2021. The Ravens will be heavily reliant on their new free agent signing Mike Davis from the Atlanta Falcons. Expect a large workload for Davis early in year, as Dobbins is still being limited in practice.
Baltimore Pro Bowlers Returning
Joining Baltimore, are other former pro bowlers Marcus Peters and Ronnie Stanley. This should bolster the defensive back group who struggled to cover all last season finishing towards the bottom of the league in passing yards allowed.
WRs such as Jamar Chase, Tee Higgins, and Justin Jefferson made life miserable for Baltimore in 2021. They hope the return of their star corners and O-linemen should make life easier on star QB Lamar Jackson. Jackson dealt with injury problems of his own at the end of 2021 and is hoping to return to MVP form this season.
Exciting Rookie Class
With a healthy roster on the way in 2022 don’t be surprised if there’s a big turn around this season in Baltimore. Coach Harbaugh brings a winning culture to the locker room and with draft standouts like Kyle Hamilton, Tyler Linderbaum, and David Ojabo joining the roster this team will look vastly different in 2022.
Expect the Ravens to be competing with divisional rivals, especially the super bowl runner ups in Cincinnati. Baltimore has been the most consistent team in the division for what feels like decades. Baltimore is primed to make a push back into another AFC North crown next season, which is a divisional race I cannot wait to see next season.
