The Baltimore Ravens got the best of the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday Night. The Ravens took care of business at home in the form of a 34-20 victory over their division rival.
That being said, the Ravens’ victory is certainly bitter sweet as they found out some devastating news after their big win.
The Baltimore Ravens Lose Star Tight End Mark Andrews For The Year During Win Over The Cincinnati Bengals
During Thursday night’s 34-20 win over the Cincinnati Bengals, Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews injured his left ankle on the Ravens’ opening drive.
Andrews was injured after being tackled by Bengals linebacker Logan Wilson after catching a 9-yard pass 4 yards from the end zone. Prime Video reported that he walked with crutches around the locker room area. After the game head coach John Harbaugh had a devastating update. Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter:
Ravens’ HC John Harbaugh said TE Mark Andrews has a likely season-ending ankle injury.
John Harbaugh: “Unfortunately on the negative side, Mark Andrews has a very serious ankle injury. It looks Iike a season-ending injury. So our prayers will be with Mark.”
Andrews had two catches for 23 yards before leaving the game. Throughout the 2023 season, Andrews had 43 receptions for 521 yards with an average of 12.1 yards per catch, along with six touchdowns.
Andrews has been one of Jackson’s favorite targets and has been a key part of this offense. Behind rookie wide receiver Zay Flowers, the 28-year-old has the second-most receptions and yards on the Ravens. This loss is certainly season-altering for the Ravens and will take significant changes on offense to make up for it.
