It is Year 2 in the NFL for Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Devontez Walker, whose presence on the field was barely felt and noticed in the 2024 season.
The former North Carolina Tar Heels wideout appeared in only nine games in his rookie campaign and recorded just a catch on three targets, though that lone reception was for a touchdown during a game against the New York Giants.
Walker appeared mostly with the special teams, where he had 155 snaps compared to just 57 with the offense, but there could be a major shift in that balance in 2025, as he’s been getting attention in the offseason.

Baltimore Ravens WR’s hardwork gets noticed

With a superstar quarterback in Lamar Jackson, Ravens receivers, including Walker, can hope to flourish on the field if given enough time to shine. That’s clearly what Walker is after, just more opportunities, and perhaps the numbers will start stacking up. That’s not all in his hands, but Walker is making sure he’s doing work this offseason
“Every day, all he does is show up and go 100 miles an hour,” coach John Harbaugh said after the minicamp (h/t Ryan Mink of the Ravens’ official site). “He’s got a chance to be really good.”.
Walker is expected to be behind the likes of Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman on the depth chart and with veteran DeAndre Hopkins added over the offseason, he may find playing time with the offense just as hard to come by as it was in 2024. Still, he’s got the upcoming training camp to further prove that he deserves more playing time and starts down the road.
