If there’s one thing people learned about Derrick Henry in his first season with the Baltimore Ravens, it’s that he clearly still has it.
The former Alabama Crimson Tide star running back signed a two-year deal with the Ravens in the 2024 offseason after spending his first nine years in the NFL with the Tennessee Titans, who selected him in the second round (45th overall) of the 2016 NFL draft.
Will the Baltimore Ravens come up with a new deal for Henry?

However, Henry’s current contract with the Ravens will only pay him $6 million in the 2025 NFL season — a bargain, considering how great he was in 2024. Baltimore, of course, can work with Henry for a new deal, though, Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta didn’t provide much on that end when he spoke about the tailback on Tuesday.
Via NFL.com senior writer Kevin Patra:
“We have a lot of different balls in air right now,” DeCosta said via the team’s official transcript. “That’s probably what I would say on that. I’m not going to talk about what we’re doing [or] what we’re not doing behind the scenes business-wise with these guys. I don’t think it’s good for me to do that, but I would say that aside from the draft, as you all know, we’re looking at guys that are still available, free agents on the street. We’re looking at re-signing our own guys. We’re blessed to have a bunch of really good players, and we’re going to try and keep as many of those guys as we can. It’s a challenge.”
In the 2024 season, Henry, who turned 31 years old last January, rushed for 1,921 yards and 16 touchdowns on 325 carries. Together with star running back Lamar Jackson, Henry powered Baltimore’s ground attack that ranked first in the NFL with 192.8 rushing yards per outing.
