The Baltimore Ravens have two talented starting-caliber offensive tackles, left tackle Ronnie Stanley and right tackle Roger Rosengarten. However, they entered the week of the 2025 NFL Draft with a glaring issue: they had zero backups on their active roster. The Ravens made it a mission to address the position during the draft, selecting two tackles, including an SEC star on Day 2.
The Baltimore Ravens selected a star RT from LSU

The Ravens drafted former LSU Tigers star Emery Jones Jr. 91st overall in the third round of the 2025 NFL Draft. Jones had a solid three-year career at Baton Rouge, instantly becoming their starting right tackle as a true freshman with 37 starts to his name. His accolades include a Second-Team All-SEC selection in 2023 and 2024.
Jones had a solid junior season, allowing the fewest sacks. He gave up 28 pressures, 23 hurries, four quarterback hits, and one sack in 12 games. He also posted a 67.4 pass-blocking, a 61.0 run-blocking, and a 61.7 overall PFF grade.
The Ravens enter Day 2 of rookie minicamp, which will run through Monday. Jones was present for minicamp but did not participate because of an injury.
The Baltimore Ravens rookie is dealing with a shoulder injury

Emery Jones Jr. suffered a labrum injury in his left shoulder during the pre-draft process. As a result, John Harbaugh told the media during Sunday’s press conference that “it’s gonna be a little while” before Jones practices as he recovers from his shoulder injury. Harbaugh hopes their third-round pick will be ready for training camp or earlier.

He will compete for an important role on offense

Once he returns to the practice field, Emery Jones Jr. could compete for two important positions on the offensive line. Jones will compete for the starting right guard position against incumbent Daniel Faalele and Ben Cleveland. He will also compete for the swing tackle job against former Los Angeles Ram Joseph Noteboom and a fifth-round pick from the Alabama A&M Bulldogs, Carson Vinson, to replace Josh Jones.
