The Baltimore Ravens made a trade for a Pro Bowl offensive weapon earlier in the week. On Tuesday, the Ravens acquired Diontae Johnson and a 2025 sixth-round pick from the Carolina Panthers for a fifth-round pick. Johnson spent the first half of the 2024 season with the Panthers and led the team with 30 receptions on 58 targets for 357 yards and three touchdowns. Since the Panthers are 1-7 and aren’t going anywhere in the NFC Playoff Picture, they decided to acquire draft capital and send him to a team in contention.

The question is whether he will play this week.
Will the Baltimore Ravens newcomer play?

Since the Ravens acquired Diontae Johnson earlier in the week, it might take time for the newcomer to understand the entire playbook. He practiced this week, but a few days isn’t enough for him to play a substantial role. Many were curious about his role in today’s noon game.
Although he will play, his role will be minimal.
A CBS Sports reporter gives us a preview of his role for today’s game

According to Tracy Wolfson of CBS, John Harbaugh told her that Diontae Johnson’s role will be minimal. As Wolfson points out, the expectation is for Johnson to play around 10-15 offensive snaps for their game against the Denver Broncos. Although his role will be small, he could still impact today’s game since he’s a talented receiver and ability of a route runner.
Harbaugh telling me he expects Diontae Johnson to play about 10-15 snaps as he’s still learning everything. He adds not only another weapon that can stretch the field but also adds depth in case of injury as season goes on #Ravens
