The Baltimore Ravens are looking to exact revenge against their AFC rival in the Kansas City Chiefs. The two will face off during opening weekend of the 2024 season. The Ravens clinched the number one seed in the AFC last season and had massive Super Bowl expectations. The Chiefs, however, ended those Super Bowl dreams in the conference championship last weekend.
The Ravens’ odds of beating the Chiefs in week one may have just got a big boost.
The Baltimore Ravens May Have A Major Upper Hand In Week One Vs. The Kansas City Chiefs
According to NFL Insider Jordan Schultz:
Chiefs WR Marquise “Hollywood” Brown is expected to miss four to six weeks with the sternoclavicular injury he suffered, per multiple sources.Opening night is three weeks from this Thursday night. KC opens up at home vs Baltimore and then Cincinnati.
In light of Rashee Rice’s uncertain future and the struggles of the receiver room last year, Kansas City revamped its receiver room this offseason. Eight charges were filed against Rice following his arrest in an offseason car accident.
A one-year, $7 million contract signed by Brown made him one of two big-ticket acquisitions for the Chiefs. In April’s NFL draft, Xavier Worthy was selected with the 28th overall pick.
Losing Brown could have a big impact on the Chiefs’ ability to throw down field, something their defense can take advantage of. It will be interesting to see how the Chiefs’ offense looks come week one.
