Baker Mayfield, Tampa Bay’s starting quarterback, was recently ranked no. 50 in the NFL’s Top 100 Players of 2025. The league has been releasing rankings of players slowly, and this week released numbers 50 to 47, with Mayfield mentioned in it. While Mayfield was ranked 50th in the list voted by players themselves, Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Quinyon Mitchell ranked 49th.

Minnesota Vikings linebacker Jonathan Greenard was ranked 48th, while Miami Dolphins wide receiver, Tyreek Hill made it to the 47th position. The biggest talking point in this week’s ranking is definitely Hill, who was ranked no. 1 in the previous year. It is not only Hill’s stats that led to his drop, but also the various scandals revolving around him.
Emily Wilkinson was definitely happy to see her husband Baker Mayfield being ranked 50th in the top 100 list and reshared a graphic with the announcement on her Instagram. Wilkinson and Mayfield have been married since 2019 and she has often been credited as a strong source of strength and support in the quarterback’s career.

Aside from his NFL rankings, quarterback Baker Mayfield has plenty more to work for in the upcoming season. This will be the third season that Mayfield will play for with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the 30-year-old quarterback will be eager to churn out bigger scores than he did in the previous season. Mayfield and the Buccaneers will be soon kicking off their 2025 regular season with a matchup against the Atlanta Falcons.
Baker Mayfields Has New Backup QB In Teddy Bridgewater
On another note, Baker Mayfield will be playing with a new backup quarterback in none other than veteran Teddy Bridgewater. Bridgewater recently signed a one-year deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the upcoming NFL season after finishing his two-year stint with the Detroit Lions before this.
Bridgewater also took up a high-school football coaching job with his former school last year, but the project ended when it was reported that he provided his students with financial assistance. Still, the veteran will bring a powerhouse of talents and expertise to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and will serve well as backup QB to Baker Mayfield.

Mayfield, on the other hand, was out of training camp for a couple of days after struggling with a hand contusion. The quarterback is out of danger and managed to make it back to practice on Tuesday. Mayfield’s Buccaneers will be this weekend opening their preseason with a face-off against the Tennessee Titans.
