Baker Mayfield added flair to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ dominant 30-7 win over the New York Giants with a touchdown celebration that stole the show. After scrambling for a 10-yard rushing touchdown late in the second quarter, Mayfield mimicked Giants QB Tommy ‘Cutlets’ DeVito’s signature “Double Tommy” gesture — a playful nod to DeVito’s Italian heritage.

Mayfield raised his arms, curled his fingers, and wildly pumped toward the crowd at MetLife Stadium, delivering a tribute that was both spontaneous and cheeky. “It was a tribute to Tommy,” Mayfield quipped postgame. “New York fans love him, so I gave them something they’d enjoy.”
Baker Mayfield Making Moments
The celebration was met with mixed responses. Running back Bucky Irving called it “classic Baker” and cornerback Zyon McCollum said, “He invigorates the whole team.” On the other side, some Giants players, including Darius Slayton, were miffed, saying, “When you lose, you allow people to do stuff like that.”
‘I didn’t know anything about that,’ said DeVito, unaware of the tribute during the game. Giants’ QB ‘Tommy Cutlets’ has embraced his Italian roots, basically living as a cross between Mad Men and Saturday Night Live. Mayfield’s lighthearted imitation was a perfect example of the ability he has to make tense moments into viral ones.
The Bucs snapped a month-long losing streak with the win, improving to 5-6 and keeping their NFC South hopes alive. Mayfield delivered one of his best performances of the season, completing 24-of-30 passes for 294 yards and a rushing touchdown.

While New York fans might not have appreciated Mayfield’s playful trolling, the moment captured his unique charisma. Love him or hate him, Mayfield continues to bring energy and unpredictability to the game — and plenty of meme-worthy celebrations to the NFL stage.
What’s next for the Bucs QB? If history tells us anything, we’ll be watching for another headline-worthy moment.
