Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield is off to arguably the most impressive start to a season at any point in his career.
Mayfield, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, is in a groove in his second season at the helm of a Buccaneers offense that includes Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and a backfield duo consisting of Bucky Irving and Rachaad White.
Through four weeks, Mayfield is completing 70.5 percent of his passes for 984 yards, and most importantly, eight touchdowns to just two interceptions. Mayfield has been a driving force behind the Buccaneers jumping out to a 3-1 start and leading the NFC South.

While Mayfield is experiencing a career renaissance over the past two seasons in Tampa Bay, it’s another key member of the Buccaneers’ offense has been pivotal.
Pro Football Focus points out that offensive tackle Tristan Wirfs has been not only the best offensive lineman in the NFL against bull rushes, but he’s been perfect against the move, having not lost a rep to a bull-rushing pass rusher in 18 snaps.
Wirfs’ consistency has helped Mayfield get rid of the ball so quickly and accurately while executing the Buccaneers’ offense at the highest level.
Through four weeks, Wirfs hasn’t allowed a sack, surrendered just four quarterback pressures, according to Pro Football Focus, and is garnering an elite 85.8 pass-blocking grade.
A prolific offense is only is dominant as its offensive line, and Wirfs is playing at the highest level right now.
